Nothing says awesome like a season opening sweep by a combined 13-1 margin. The Women's Hockey Team came out and laid the smackdown on the Vermont Friday, defeating the Catamounts 9-0. Then followed it up with a 4-1 performance on Saturday.
Some notes:
Melissa Marshall is already one point away from her totals last year after scoring two goals and and four assists this weekend.
Marie Jo-Gaudet also had a six point weekend tallying three goals and three assists.
Each of Clarkson incoming freshman recruits got on the scoreboard this weekend.
Kira Hurley had her first shutout of the year on Friday. She stopped 17 of 18 shots over the weekend.
Clarkson was in the penalty box seven times this weekend. Despite this, Vermont went 0/7 on the PP.
Clarkson Men's Team. Take note. You'll need 14 to top the Women this weekend!
