IT'S GAMEDAY! LIVE BLOGGING

9:19p - Weller redeems himself for the icing with the empty netter and the first star of the game. Clarkson is now 11-5-2 and will enjoy a 3 week vacation before they head to Wisconsin.

9:15p - EMPTY NETTER!! 3-1 TECH! 6 POINT WEEKEND!

9:12p - Timeout SLU after a dumb icing from Weller. SLU with the empty net on the other end.

9:07p - Well that was an eventful 12 minutes. Goal waived off, and Guthrie with an absolute highlight reel goal. We'll be seeing that one again. 2-1 Knights with under 4 to play.

8:55p - REPLAY TIME!

8:44p - How did that go in? 1-1 on a bad goal. And now the video feed is dying.

8:39p - Obligatory "How many engineers does it take...." joke.

8:30p - Gotta love WCKN for still running 1997 Clarkson Hockey promo.

8:07p - Clarkson has taken 3 penalties this period and has killed them all off. The 5 on 3 for SLU was probably their best chances of the game. The game has settled down, SLU might have a slight edge but play is very even. Shots are 21-14 SLU right now.

7:45p - The powerplay looked very good at the end of the period, ultimately resulting in a goal. Weller took a rebound of a Zalewski shot and roofed it. Tisi really couldn't do anything after the initial save. Moral of the story, keep Clarkson off the powerplay. Clarkson's worst period statistically their worst, so I would expect an answer from SLU to start the second.

7:31p - WELLER DRAWS FIRST BLOOD!

7:14p - Clarkson headed on the powerplay. Not much doing. Both teams start out 0 for 1 on the man up.

7:08p - Clarkson sporting a new third jersey tonight. Gold jersey with a green stripe and a yellow "KNIGHTS" across the chest in script. St. Lawrence headed on the first powerplay. Overall play has been sloppy on both sides to start out.

7:02p - GAME ON!

4:45p - Doors are open and the general admission section is filling up. The game is sold out and the 1000 standing room tickets will be on sale in 15 minutes. Coming up on WCKN is the Golden Knights Pre-Game show featuring interviews with coach Roll and Brodie Rutherglen.

2:45p - Quotes from the Coach:
"It has been a good turn around for us after the four-game losing streak, I think we got back to doing the simple things and really playing sound defensive hockey. We have given up just four goals in four games and if you do that you are going to have a lot of success. The goal scoring might not be up to where it was earlier in the season, but certainly our defensive awareness has improved and our specialty teams have been outstanding. That is a good combination of things to have going right."

1:46p - It's good to hear that there were some people camping out in Cheel this morning waiting for the doors to open at 4:00 this afternoon. It's a difficult tradition to uphold on a Tuesday during dead week, but what's a couple points shaved off the GPA in trade for some seats on the glass?

12:50p - For those who aren't in the WCKN viewing radius, the video feed is streaming the classic games right now to get the bugs out before tonight. Right now Clarkson is up 3-0 on goals two goals from Kevin O'Flaherty and Chris Blight. - gobe

12:01p - Kyle over at WCKN made a tremendous save after we suggested he show the 2001-2002 SLU game instead of a brtual defeat. They've been doing a spectacular job with hockey coverage as well as keeping the fanbase apprised of the video streaming situation over at the Roundtable.

The 2001-2002 SLU game at Cheel was possibly the greatest game ever played at the arena IMHO. A record crowd showed up, destroying the previous record. Clarkson got off to a hot start, faced a SLU comeback, which lead to an unbelievable overtime which tipped the North Country upside down. If you're on campus, they'll be showing this one shortly. Definitely worth watching if you weren't around to see it. -Ron
