Clarkson Upends Wisconsin
The Clarkson Golden Knights defeated the Wisconsin Badgers last night 6-2 in front of 13661 fans at the Badger Showdown in Madison, Wisconsin. Nick Dodge recorded the first hat trick for the Knights since Jay Latulippe tallied three goals against Dartmouth in 2004. Dodge scored the Knights first goal giving Clarkson a 1-0 lead which they took to the locker room at the end of one. Wisconsin tied the game at 1 in the second but Dodge answered back just 21 seconds later and gave the Knights the lead for good. Clarkson scored twice more in the second as Mike Grenzy scored his first goal of the season and Chris D'Alvise tallied his first goal since November. Dodge tallied the hat trick to start the third period. Mike Grenzy scored his second goal of the night to cap the Clarkson scoring. Wisconsin added one goal late in the third period. David Leggio made 29 saves, some of the spectacular variety, in the win and moved 11-3-1 on the season. Clarkson will take on Lake Superior State in the championship game at 5 PM today. Clarkson has split the two meeting with LSSU this season losing 5-1 and winning 7-1 at Cheel.
